Red Cross
volunteers drive the organization, providing care, education, relief and
support. They care for the sick, the elderly and the disabled. They help
refugees settle in their new countries. They prepare for, and respond to
natural disasters. They participate in health education and first-aid
training, and provide health-care services. Red Cross and Red Crescent
volunteers perform countless tasks, every day, in every continent of the
world. You can
help The work of the Botswana Red Cross Society is made possible by voluntary
contributions from individuals and organizations. Many people would like to
volunteer but are not sure where to start. Volunteering and helping the
worlds vulnerable is an opportunity that Botswana Red Cross Society can
offer. If you want to receive more information on volunteering or you want to

Youth is our future… Young volunteers are integral to the work of Botswana Red Cross Society,
promoting humanitarian values, health, community service and international
friendship. Through drama, dance, games and workshops, our youth volunteers
educate their peers at schools and in the communities. We recognize the capacity of young people to alleviate human suffering
and improve the lives of those in need. As such, we are constantly recruiting
young volunteers for our Youth Peer Education Programme and our Red Cross
Youth Clubs in primary and Secondary schools. Where
can you find us? Our volunteers operate throughout the whole
country. We have several Red Cross branches, for example in Kanye, You can find all the addresses in the Contact Us page. What
can you do as a volunteer? Volunteers
can be found in many different roles and at all levels. Here are a few
examples of how they can contribute: Organizing
activities and delivering services For example Community Home Based Care facilitators, Youth Peer Educators,
First Aid volunteers and trainers provide services to local communities on a
daily basis. You can be part of it. Fund-raising BRCS relies on donations to provide essentials service to the vulnerable.
Volunteers can assist by raising funds for the Society. Advocacy Volunteers can campaign and advocate for disabled or sick people, or
other disadvantaged population groups. They can promote the dissemination of
the Red Cross message within communities and Youth Clubs. Giving
advice and solving problems Volunteers provide expertise advisory on legal, education, health,
finance and social issues. Management
and administration Volunteers assist in planning, accounting, office work and membership drive. |
