A volunteer is a member of public who carries out voluntary activities offering his/her skills, knowledge and expertise to help vulnerable people, not motivated by desire of financial and material gain abiding by the society’s constitution, rules and regulations.
Botswana Red Cross Society (BRCS) views young people as integral to humanitarian work. Through the youth programme, young people undertake activities in line with the four-part programme. This programme consists of dissemination of the Fundamental principles of the Red Cross movement and international humanitarian law, protection of life and health, community service and promotion of international friendship and understanding.
The BRCS mandate can only be realized with the active involvement of the volunteers and members. The Society therefore invites the public to enroll as volunteers and help those less fortunate.
Volunteer today and help the less fortunate.
Joining and Volunteering at BRCS
“We recognize the capacity of young people to alleviate human suffering and improve the lives of those in need. Make a difference and join now”
BRCS volunteers drive the organization, providing care, education, relief and support. They care for the sick, the elderly and the disabled. They prepare for, and respond to natural disasters. They participate in health education and first-aid training, and provide health-care services.
The work of the Botswana Red Cross Society is made possible by voluntary contributions from individuals and organizations. Many people would like to volunteer but are not sure where to start. Volunteering and helping the worlds vulnerable is an opportunity that Botswana Red Cross Society can offer. If you want to receive more information on volunteering or you want to make a donation, please contact the Information Office at our Headquarters in Gaborone or the Chairperson of the Red Cross Branch in your village.
